Residents across the borough are invited to attend Gibraltar House on Wednesday 29 March from 10am to 4pm to hear about the range of community and fun activities available to help people physically and mentally.
United in Kind coach, Carol Wakeman, who has lived in Brentwood for 26 years, will be talking about tackling loneliness and isolation with acts of kindness. Carol explains; “My role is Brentwood Community Connector working with Active Essex on their Find Your Active Campaign. This involves connecting people with an activity that they will enjoy and will suit their lifestyle. There are many low cost or free activities to help people become active in these challenging times. We also find gaps where physical activity doesn’t exist and seek to find a solution. I do stalls at many events with lots of local information and have both Facebook and Instagram pages called ‘findyouractivebrentwood’ where I post lots of fun ideas for people of all ages.’
Chair of Community, Environment & Enforcement, Cllr Will Russell said; “We have strong communities and housing teams that support residents across the borough in many different ways. Community initiatives like this are just one example where that personal contact can make all the difference and open up new opportunities for people across the community.”
Gibraltar House is located at The Drive, Great Warley, CM13 3AZ
