Celebrating the sporting talents in the borough as winners of the Brentwood Sports Awards 2024 are announced

The sporting communities of Brentwood and Rochford came together for a night of celebration as the winners of the 2024 Brentwood and Rochford Sports Awards were announced.

The awards ceremony, held earlier this week (Wednesday 16 October) at The Mill Arts & Events Centre in Rayleigh, recognised the outstanding achievements of athletes, coaches and volunteers who have made significant contributions to local sports over the past year.

This year's awards showcased a diverse range of talent across various sports, highlighting the dedication, skill and passion that exist within the sporting communities. The awards honoured those who have not only excelled in their sporting field but have also made a positive impact on the local sporting community.

The winners of the Brentwood Sports Awards 2024 are:

Club of the year: Hutton FC

Young Volunteer: Alice Collings

Unsung Hero: Tom Keegan and Joanna Beattie

Coach of the year: Michael Green

Sports Personality of the year: Ella Brook

Coach of the year: Paul Forrest

Young sports personality of the year: Alex Harvey

The Inclusive Communities Award: Forget me Not Activity Club

Changing lives through Sport and Physical Activity/Health Initiatives: Junior Parkrun

Following the awards ceremony, the Mayor of Brentwood, Councillor Mark Haigh, said: “We came together to honour the hard work, passion and dedication that defines Brentwood’s sporting community. The incredible spirit of perseverance we’ve witnessed is a testament to the strength and talent of our community. Sport has the unique ability to inspire and bring people together, and we are proud of everyone who has contributed to this success. Congratulations to all the worthy winners.”
