Do you know someone who goes out of their way to make a difference in our community?
The annual Civic Awards are back, and we are calling on you to nominate those individuals and organisations that are making a difference in our community.
We’d like to recognise the hard work of organisations and locals, who have continued to help others and make Brentwood a better place. The annual Civic Awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge their dedication in going above and beyond for the community.
Mayor of Brentwood Councillor Gareth Barrett said, “It never fails to amaze me the amount of people we have in our Borough who give their time to worthy causes for the benefit of others. Every year, we see fantastic examples of Brentwood's community spirit. The Civic awards serve as a platform to honour those who have gone the extra mile for their community, shown bravery or who have excelled in their work in the Borough. These awards are a great way of recognising their achievements and celebrating their commitment.”
The Service to the Community award is open for nominations to both individuals and groups, regardless of age and can be nominated to someone who volunteers their free time helping others, such as caring for a family member, helping others within the Borough or someone who has done something exceptional for the community.
The Lifetime Achievement award is designed to honour someone who has dedicated years to creating a lasting and positive effect on the community and deserves recognition for their accomplishments.
Anyone who lives or works in Brentwood can be nominated.
To assist the judging panel, please ensure you include as much detail as possible when nominating with examples of what the individual or group have done in the community.
The nominations close on Friday 9 February 2024 and will be considered by the panel of judges.
The awards will be presented on Friday 5 April 2024 at the Civic Dinner.
