The public toilets in Brentwood High Street have now reopened after the necessary refurbishment has been completed and a dedicated cleaning regime has been put in place during opening hours.
The male and female toilets in the block had unfortunately been closed since February 2023, following serious vandalism. The Changing Places facility was unaffected and has remained open.
Councillor Barry Aspinell, Leader of Brentwood Borough Council and Chair of the Clean and Committee said, “I am pleased they are now open for what I hope is a busy time for our High Street. Now the toilets are refurbished and up and running we have installed a permanent member of staff to maintain a high level of cleanliness and an ever-present reassurance for security.”
He went on to add, “In addition to maintaining these facilities a continual check of the litter bins in the high street area and cleaning up of the pavements is also part of this package.”
