Brentwood Community Fund 2025 Launches to Support Local Projects

Date

Brentwood Borough Council, in partnership with Axis, Seven Arches Investments Limited and the Brentwood Health and Wellbeing Board, is pleased to launch this year’s Brentwood Community Fund, inviting local organisations and individuals to bid for funding for community projects.

As part of its social value commitment to the local community, Axis, whose been delivering repairs and maintenance on Council housing over the next 6 years, has made a significant contribution to the grant scheme.  Additionally, the Council’s wholly owned company, Seven Arches Investments Limited (SAIL), has also generously contributed to the fund, allowing a greater number of projects to receive funding.  This year the fund has received an additional boost thanks to the Brentwood Health and Wellbeing Board, which will enable a greater emphasis on awarding grants to projects with strong health and wellbeing outcomes.

To qualify for funding, projects must:

  • Benefit Brentwood communities and be delivered within the Borough
  • Demonstrate community involvement in their design and execution
  • Show sustainability for long-term impact
  • Align with the Council’s community, health, and environmental priorities

Brentwood Borough Council’s Chair of the Housing, Health and Community Committee, Councillor Dr Tim Barrett, said: 'Over the past 10 years, the Community Fund has distributed £315,000 to local organisations for projects that benefit our communities. In this time, the fund has made over 150,000 individual impacts. We are very grateful for the support of Axis, SAIL and the Health and Wellbeing Board which has enabled us to offer charitable and community organisations access to funding for delivering initiatives at the heart of our communities.’

Axis’ Managing Director, Tim Hayes said: ‘We are very happy to support an initiative that clearly has a long term positive impact on a community that has welcomed Axis and that we feel part of. Over the life of our contract, I believe our partnership with Brentwood Borough Council will achieve far more than safe and comfortable homes. Together we will create opportunities for local employment and apprenticeships, as well as volunteering together and funding programmes like this, which improve facilities, welfare and community for Brentwood residents.

SAIL’s Director, Greg Campbell, said: ‘SAIL continues to actively look into ways in which it can support the local community in Brentwood. Brentwood Council has operated the Community Fund for a number of years empowering not-for-profit groups and organisations to promote local initiatives. SAIL is excited for the opportunity to financially support the funding of this sound programme that gives Brentwood’s communities the opportunity to improve the quality of life for local people living in the Borough, present and future.’

Cllr Vicky Davies, Chair of the Brentwood Health and Wellbeing Board, said: ‘Good health and wellbeing is vital to happy and prosperous communities and as such it should be at the core of everything we do. The Board is pleased to be able to support the Community Fund this year, ensuring that the grants firmly prioritise healthy outcomes for our residents.’
