Brentwood Borough Council launches second year of successful business growth programme GET SET GROW

Date

Brentwood Borough Council in collaboration with Rochford District Council has announced the launch of the second year of GET SET GROW: a free dynamic business growth programme funded by the UK Government.

This initiative, delivered by award-winning business coaches from The Consortium, will offer invaluable support and resources for local businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs.  The first year of GET SET GROW, which ran from September 2023 to March 2024, was highly successful in supporting 36 businesses, creating 15 new jobs and launching 18 new businesses.

GET SET GROW is designed to foster business growth and innovation by combining the advantages of group business coaching with personalised one-to-one mentoring. The programme will culminate in The Big Pitch, offering participants the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of experts and compete for prizes.

Cllr David Kendall, Chair of the Finance and Resources Committee at Brentwood Borough Council said: "Following the tremendous success of the first year, we are thrilled to launch the second year of the GET SET GROW programme. This initiative has proven invaluable in supporting our local businesses and entrepreneurs, fostering growth, creating jobs and driving innovation in Brentwood. With the continued support and resources provided by this programme, we are confident that even more businesses will thrive. We look forward to seeing even more success stories in the coming year."

The GET SET GROW programme is open to businesses at any stage, whether start-up or established, located within the borough of Brentwood or the Rochford district. Participants can have any trading status, including Sole Trader, Limited Company, or Community Interest Company (CIC).

Interested Brentwood businesses can apply at www.brentwood.gov.uk/get-set-grow. Group cohort sessions will commence in September 2024 and the programme runs until 31 March 2025.
