The new strategic partnership between Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council saw teams from both organisations taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for charity.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24 miles (38.6km) and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent. The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The group managed to raise more than £11,000 which will be split between the charities supported by the Chairman at Rochford and the Mayor of Brentwood which are:
- Cardiomyopathy UK
- Parkinson’s UK
- Hopefield Animal Sanctuary
- Saint Francis Hospice
- Trust Links
- Achievement Through Football
A new challenge is being set for 2023 with even more people from both organisations signing up for next year.
The OneTeam has been sponsored by Norse Group.
