Brentwood emergency response actions
Our role in an emergency is to support the emergency services and our local communities. We aim to achieve this in a number of ways including:
- Opening and staff rest and reception centres
- Co-ordinate efforts of voluntary organisations
- Provide an information service for the public and media
- Give mutual assistance to adjoining district and borough councils where possible
- Respond to emergency service requests for assistance
- Assisting Council Services in maintaining its critical functions through Business Continuity Management
- Leading the recovery of affected areas and communities
Brentwood Borough Council will, as far as possible, keep our every day council services running despite the diversion of staff and other resources to the handling of the incident.
