Local elections on 2 May 2024 – Application deadlines
Completed applications must be received by Electoral Services by the deadlines shown below to be included in the election on 2 May 2024.
Applications to register to vote: Tuesday 16 April 2024
Postal vote applications: Wednesday 17 April 2024 by 5 pm
Proxy vote applications: Wednesday 24 April 2024 by 5 pm
Application for a Voter Authority Certificate (ID): Wednesday 24 April 2024 by 5pm
Emergency proxy applications: Thursday 2 May 2024 by 5pm
Local elections will be held on Thursday 2nd May 2024. Borough Council elections will be combined with the election of a Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for the Essex Police Area.
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has carried out a review of the ward arrangements in the Brentwood Borough. This means that, from May 2024, the Borough will be divided into 13 wards, each of which will have three borough councillors. All 39 Borough Council seats will be contested at the elections on 2nd May 2024.
